A Quick Project with Cabinet Doors

The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.

- William Arthur Ward

Love that quote! So true to our life of late. This is a quick project using small cabinet doors. Our children have a room at our condo on the beach. A nautical theme was chosen for decorating the room.

We decided to add our initials to personalize the room. Using the flags of the nautical alphabet we painted the doors with bright colors to match the bedspreads chosen. One door has my husband's and my initials. (We have the same) The second has the first letter of our 3 children.
Spelling out  a message instead of initials would be fun too.

Here is the tutorial:

Paint the base color on the door. I choose a creamy white to match the old (but comfortable) furniture.
Draw squares on your cabinet door matching the number of letters you choose.

My husband's and my initials

Completed plaques with all of our initials. Our on the left -Our children on the right

That quick project is done and it is a beautiful day here today.
I think I will head out to the garden and soak in the sun. Until next time…

  1. Hi Debra,

How beautiful the condo at the beach must be and love the nautical bedroom.
Such a lovely idea with the flags of the nautical alphabet, spelling out your families initials.
Many thanks for visiting me and lovely to catch up again.
Don't know if I got around to wishing you a wonderful year, never to late - hope for a great one for you and your family.

  2. How clever! It certainly enhances the nautical theme.
