Simple Things

Christina' s blog Soul Aperture is having a Simple Things Day. Please check out her gorgeous photographs and wonderful writing. In honor of her I have added a few of my own Simple Things. They cost nothing, but make us grateful for each day.

Time to pray
Time reading to a child
Time to read myself
Time to create
Time to relax

Vacations
Journey to foreign countries
Exploring
Little gifts from the sea

Spring
Creating in a garden
Finding a new bloom
Having a unexpected visitor.

A quiet walk in the evening with my husband
- hand in hand-
A new moon
Stillness

Family celebrations
4th of July in the Park
A wedding
The birth of a new baby

The sanctuary of HOME
A fire in the hearth
Setting the table for family dinner
Decorating cookies for Christmas
Watching our children come down Christmas morning
A sleepy child on your shoulder.

Mr. WW had surgery just over a week ago. We have had a week to heal and think about the little things. They certainly mean a great deal.

  1. I like the idea of "time" as a simple thing ... it's not often thought of that way. Wonderful list here.

  3. Your photography is beautiful and you are so right -- what we can appreciate and value that costs us no money. I adore your list and it's true, when we are recovering or healing and taking time to appreciate our life (or that of someone we love as in your case), it gives us ample time to reflect on what truly matters in life.

  11. It does help to be reminded of the little things, especially when these are the things that can be taken for granted all too easily.

    Thanks for the reminder!

Thank you for your kind message.
    Are you packing?
When is your estimated time of departure? Will it be hard to leave your amazing garden behind?
