Sewn Blog Party Give Away





Have you heard about the launch party for the the new site called Sewn? In honor of the site Launch June 8th, they are having a wonderful giveaway. This blog (and many more) are joining the party and are participating by having a giveaway of our own.

My blog give away will include the following creative pack:


Some fun Summer Fabrics
1/2 yard of designer beach ball fabric -prewashed full 1/2 yard
fat quarter of striped fabric-prewashed slighty smaller than full fat quarter
1/2 yard of pokadot fabric-prewashed full 1/2 yard

Because I love embroidery the following items will be included:

Wooden embroidery hoop
Pack of DMC darning needles.
Assorted embroidery floss and Perle Cotton

The winner will be chosen by chance on June 8th, 2009. It will be drawn out of a hat and I will have a special blog that day to announce the winner.

  3. I embroidered pillowcases as a kid - my Mom taught me how. I also learned to sew thru 4-H and even as bad as I was I stuck to it. Now I am a quiltmaker. The fabric in your giveaway is great.

  14. Silk ribbon embroidery and candlewicking are my prefered needle and thread activities, although I have been very brave and made some stitcheries recently. Such a generous giveaway and those threads are gorgeous. Wouldn't it be fabulous to win?!

I make pillows for my nieces and nephews with their names embroidared when they are born...so fun to see them used as they grow! Simple stuff, but who doesnt like to see their names on a pillow?   20. I've never embroidered but I would love to try. A roommate's mom embroidered blankets for all of us one year and that was the best embroidered gift I've ever received. But the chance to learn might just top that!

  21. Before I had kids I would shop and when I saw something I wanted I would buy it. But now I have a housefull of kiddos and bills to pay and groceries to buy.. but I still want stuff... so I make it! It's fun and challenging and empowering!

  25. I still have my first stitching project my mother bought for me...4 gingham placemats with daisy chain stitch daisies. I've kind of gotten away from embroidery, but my DIL has begun making stuff...I'm more of a quilter these days and would love the fabric!

  26. I learned sewing in Grade 10 after being quite unsuccessful as a youngester to teach myself. I didn't really get into quilting until about 7 or 8 years ago, and now would love to have a huge stash to work from (who wouldn't though!).

Now I have to kids, and suddenly got the "urge" to do some craft again. I'm not a very experienced embroider, but enjoy it a lot.   103. Hey i know it might be too late, but i still wanted to say how beautiful that silk ribbon embroidery is beautiful. Did u do that yourself? I love silk ribbon embroidery, i do that and hand embroidery with the regular floss. I also make old-fashioned dresses and am going to make a purse for this summer.
